Hold the Romance

Keep the love away from me.

There is no chance,

I won’t give in.

Can’t stand romance,

Cupid just won’t win.

__________________________________

I won’t fall in love,

It’s nothing I want to feel.

No arrows from above,

Will ever make it real.

__________________________________

Dodge it so it won’t grow,

Heart under lock and key.

No one will ever know,

And they’ll never ever see.

__________________________________

Put it in a wooden box,

Dig a hole in the yard.

Cover it with a large rock,

It isn’t all that hard.

__________________________________

Soon as it is covered,

You’ll be a lot happier.

So long as it isn’t discovered,

Things won’t be sappier.

__________________________________

No want for a gold ring,

It’s just easier to be single.

Romance isn’t my thing,

I just don’t want to mingle.

For Fun

Love is great when it works, but hurts when it doesn't, and your image reminds me of the work of Bouke De Vries, who has inspired a lot of my poetry. I might try another soon
