I came to know you as a reflection against my skin, my hands, my face and the corners of my feet.

At the beginning of every day when I awake, I sit up ready to talk and spend time with you–eager to experience any adventure that you surprise me with. We talk within intimate settings at the end of the day–the sun beginning its descent while darkness envelopes itself around it like a tight-skinned dress.

I use you to transform my mood into warmth and comfort like being oiled down by a pair of pillow soft, jasmine scented hands.

You whisper into my ear and I blame you wholeheartedly for how I feel.

Are you trying to change me or should I change for you? You send me mixed signals at times.

Sometimes I want to be alone, but you have saved me many times from me–a never ending roller coaster of emotions.

My heart races. Blood pulsates through my veins and you never leave me.

You never let me down.

To the rescue you come to teach me to inhale and exhale, slowly, calming me. My day can go on, undoubtedly.

You heal me. Can’t you see?

A purification initiates and it is soothing like water cascading reminding me of the back of a beautifully laced dress.

You have a way of parting my lips and extending the corners of my mouth to reveal my teeth.

What have you done to me?

You dig happiness out of me, for me.

You take it out and send it through me seducing my mind like a drug coaxing reward from my brain.

Look at you Color!

Always attach to me and everything around.

You make me, me.

I am a mix of your hue, value and intensity.

The entire world is aware of it including one day old babies.

The trees, the sky, the animals and the ocean all know it!

They feel the warmth as my skin glistens and the coolness as goose bumps appear like small colonies developing off of my external being.

You are the best stain for my inside and the outside, coating me, learning me, while I am learning you still.
