Occultation in Peridot

A Beauty Ritual

Callisto, adorned with an ancient jade helm

With reverence to Venus, retreated to her idyllic realm

Hair like bronze oxidized, then became green

Enchanted her mirrors with emerald, rose, and olivine

Like Persephone within a wintertide gloam,

with pomegranate lips, parallel to red in bloodstone

Whispered fleeting rhymes, into a blushing soft glow

Soaked skin glimmered with ice crystals from the snow

Just then, breathed life into the gentle shadow of Venus

Gracefully added honey on the altar of the High Priestess

A lulling invocation brought occultation in Peridot

Into the worlds that were veiled, and the worlds that were not

Focused her gaze beyond into the mirror’s reflection:

Callisto, charmed hair, and fragments of her heaven

Remaining, was Aphrodite’s glamorous magician

Alone, but exalted under effervescence and viridian.
