Obsessive Thoughts / Moon / Never Dark

an anthology

By Dan X CatenaPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

[Obsessive thoughts]

Hacking through obsessive thoughts like vines,

The jungle of my mind fights back.

Roots and brush prevent my steps

While hives of angry bugs attack.

Marching through the desert in my brain

Past serotonin cactus flowers,

The dry expanse is vast

And crossing takes me many hours.

Icy cold and barren tundra

Don't compare to chilling voices.

After shivering in fear

I recall that they're just noises.

--

[Moon]

Molten darkness swaddles me

While Mother licks her thumb.

My eyeless face peers down

And maybe inward.

She swipes across my cheek

And I resist but she's the

Stronger one. I beam again

As soon as she is done.

--

[Never Dark]

Stark white, ever bright,

Never dark, never night.

Full of light, zero stars,

This is life behind bars.
