Silent treatment is the loudest form of absence

Staring at my phone, regret seeps in

I know I’ve messed up, my soul heavy with sin

Let's talk this over, don’t let this be the end

Every second apart feels like it’ll never mend

No calls, no texts, just empty, hollow nights

Cuts through my heart, silence sharper than knives

Eternal silent treatment, where love slowly dies

Author's Notes

This was written for Vocal's Moment of Silence Challenge.

An acrostic poem is a poem where the first letter of each line spells out a word or phrase. Based on this prompt (SILENCE), the first line would begin with S, the next line would begin with I, and so on, ending with the final letter E.

How silent and lifeless a phone becomes when the ones we love are not beside us. :)

I can really feel the loneliness and rejection caused by the silent treatment. It made me a bit sad to read which must mean it's well written!

Silent treatment is rejection and hurts, as communication is our hope of resurrecting the relation.

Another deep one, Dharr! This takes my breath away. Eternal silence treatment is deliberate abuse, horrible place to be in.
