Oasis in the desert

giver of life and love

By Gail S.Published 10 months ago 1 min read

Among the dead and broken things

Brought from near and far

They come in search of water

To fill their empty jar.

Vessels of all sizes

Some broken, some seem fine

Their wish is to be filled up

By something that is mine.

Kindness and compassion

Love and sympathy

They flock like moths to a flame

For a little piece of me.

I fill their jars the best i can

Then send them on their way

Leave them with a sense of hope

To survive another day.

Wandering souls who seek me out

For something that they need

A warm embrace a friendly smile

They come to me to feed.

I drain myself so they might live

It is the life water that they see

But often i must wonder

Who will refill ME?

I am the oasis in the desert

To those from near and far

Among the dead and broken things

I am a shining star.

Much Love, G
