Everyday,
every night,
every passing second,
It is always New Year's Eve.
Within the next 365 days,
so much you could do right,
hearts (even if it’s only your own) you can mend,
stubbornly you could continue to be purposeless.
Someone you’d never guess
could be gone within the following year.
A baby, not even yet an erection,
could be born.
The whole year may be full of new experiences,
or comparably to last, linear.
Your heart may drag you into another direction, complex,
leaving your now lover scorn.
It’s all a twisted mystery,
how long is forever?
If “we” believe in this afterlife,
why do we fight through every torment,
to survive as long as we can?
Today mimicked yesterday,
if it all ends, you were right the last time you said, “never again.”
Anxiety makes you,
anxiously seeking psychiatric relief,
where they’ll keep you an addict,
just on a drug of their choice,
raking profits from your pain,
being a wealthy middleman.
I say let it ride,
don’t be so fast to run.
Don’t be so quick to give up on someone.
It’s always easiest to hide,
won’t ever find,
In the past, you thought you might,
that which you want.
And there’s always a person watching,
waiting,
for you to give up.
So put down the fireworks,
and champagne,
which you’d never imbibe any other day.
Maybe celebrate something important.
Allow some of yourself to be lost
in the next sob story next to the water fountain at work.
How much is helping someone
hurt less going to cost?
We’ve put up enough walls,
don’t border human sisters and brothers
in search,
as your ancestors once were,
of a better place.
How ironic to hate,
immigration,
in a nonviolent,
“take it 'cause we can” way.
When the blood of the innocent meant nothing,
does it,
even today?
don’t wait,
initiate breathing life,
into this dying planet.
We each can’t be everything,
it’s decaying because we’ve taken full advantage.
Alternative ending;
(A bit angrier)
So put down the fireworks
and champagne,
which you’d never imbibe any other day.
Maybe celebrate something important.
Allow some of yourself to be lost
in the next sob story
next to the water fountain at work.
How much is helping someone
hurt less going to cost?
We’ve put up enough walls,
don’t border human sisters and brothers
in search,
as your ancestors once were,
of a better place.
"But they're a different color."
Gouge out your eyeballs,
as you don't minimally deserve
sight or any of its powers.
How ironic to hate,
immigration,
in a nonviolent,
“take it 'cause we can” way.
When the blood of the innocent meant nothing,
does it,
even today?
don’t wait,
initiate breathing life,
into this dying planet.
We each can’t be everything,
it’s decaying because we’ve taken full advantage.
About the Creator

I'd love to but, all my writing would be augmented to a persona in a way manipulated by my bio. If I say I am a saint, you'll either believe me or think the opposite. How bout you use your mind and decide who I am, then tell me.
