Now, I See...

Poem

Now, I See

Before you, there were a few…

After you, there will be someone new…

For you it’s the same; it’s all a game…

It was different with you; I thought our love was true…

I thought love would strike, but instead you more or less told me to take a hike…

With love there is pain, or there is nothing to gain…

Our love, was fragile as a dove…

That has flown away, with nothing left today…

But now, I see, our love was just felt by me…

Our love was just a one way street, with me feeling off beat…

I always felt you had shared, but now I see, you never really cared…

Once together as one; now we’re all un-done…

Your loving ways, once lighted my days…

Your beautiful eyes, were just filled with lies…

Now, I see, you never really loved me…

I thought you’d give me your heart, but instead you were just breaking mine apart…

You were just using me, Now, I see…

I had hoped our love would last, but now that is all in the past…

We had winter talks, and we sometimes took long summer walks…

Our love had never really begun, and now you’re on the run…

People say love is blind…they are wrong in my mind…

You never really loved me…Now, I see…

About the Creator

Mary Boatright

I love to write. I love rain, my grandkids, being able to be myself and Christian Kane. Just a few of the basics that pretty much sum me up.
