Mirrors of Your Mind

Poem

By Mary BoatrightPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Mirrors of Your Mind

I want to look behind the mirrors of your mind…

And see if your eyes reflect what I hope your heart is feeling…

There’s a twinkle in your eye…

Maybe it’s meant for me… or is it the reflection of my own?

The smile you flash my way…the friendly hugs, are they real?

Can it be that there is more to us than the best of any friendships?

I look at you with these questions on my lips…

M expression questions yours…

But all I see are your brown eyes returning my questions to me…

Please, remain my companion ad never look away from me…

For your door to the world is mirror in my own mind…

If you leave me now, I’ll never get to see…

I’ll never get to see what’s truly in your eyes…

Your feelings are hidden behind the mirror of your mind…

Which only reflects my questions back to me…

I fear I am lost there; hidden from your heart…

Hidden behind my own reflection of me…

I love to write. I love rain, my grandkids, being able to be myself and Christian Kane. Just a few of the basics that pretty much sum me up.
