November's Quiet Grey

Cold creeps in,

The first snow irritates,

The light fades

as candles burn

to ease the pain

of feigned kinship

and looming so-called

Holidays—

Of Thanksgiving

and the madness of gifts.

.

Kindness dwindles

as snow thickens

on the unsuspecting earth,

which hibernates and regenerates,

while humanity degenerates.

I thought this was stunning. Especially the line about kindness dwindling as the snow thickens.

Another classic Henrik -well done. Especially like Holidays— Of Thanksgiving and the madness of gifts. Christmas has become so commercial, and we have lost the true meaning.
