November's Quiet Grey
A poem of icing bonds and nature's turn
By Henrik HagelandPublished about a year ago • 1 min read
November's Quiet Grey
Cold creeps in,
The first snow irritates,
The light fades
as candles burn
to ease the pain
of feigned kinship
and looming so-called
Holidays—
Of Thanksgiving
and the madness of gifts.
.
Kindness dwindles
as snow thickens
on the unsuspecting earth,
which hibernates and regenerates,
while humanity degenerates.

This was so poignant yet so beautiful written. Loved your poem!
I thought this was stunning. Especially the line about kindness dwindling as the snow thickens.
Another classic Henrik -well done. Especially like Holidays— Of Thanksgiving and the madness of gifts. Christmas has become so commercial, and we have lost the true meaning.
I like the way your express your thoughts.
Loved this.. Well written my dear friend!
