May the ink drown in tears,
When the pen touches paper, it sears.
Had you stayed on the ground,
Why would I search the clouds all around?
I want to end the ever-growing space,
Between us, that leaves no trace.
You’re a message of joy, a beautiful dream,
You’re here today, but tomorrow may not seem.
Days pass without you, nights fade away,
Misunderstandings between us continue to stay.
We’re living this life, but not truly alive,
Life just moves on, a hollow drive.
No lines of worry, no weight of despair,
Do my words even reach you there?
Wanderers like me find no home,
If leaving was your goal, why walk alone?
You said once, there was no fear of parting,
Then why is this ending, this silent departing?
There’s no solution to the trials I face,
I was but a guest in your heart’s embrace.
She heard nothing, thought nothing at all,
They call me patient, but give me a fall.
My eyes stay red, my hair astray,
No one leaves your door empty; it gives and betrays.
We bore the weight of home, shared your pain,
Gave our all, what more could remain?
Far from you, but closer to all,
Hope drowned as the paper boat stalled.
You were never mine, but always theirs,
The conversations I saved, lost to despair.
What would I tell you, the state of my heart?
The thought of your return tears me apart.
After you left, questions lingered unspoken,
I was cast aside, like a bond broken.
If you’re not here, then neither am I,
If I’m not here, then you wouldn’t try.
I write in hope you’re hearing me somewhere,
But we weren’t the ones you’d ever declare.
In your storybook, I’m just two pages bare.
