Nothing New Under The Sun.

On History Repeating itself.

By Cathy (Christine Acheini) Ben-Ameh.Published 4 months ago 1 min read

The continents turn, yet the story is one,

Old as the stars, beneath the same sun.

Empires may falter, and fashions may fade,

But echoes remain in the world God has made.

North, south, east, west, oceans between,

The cycle returns where it always has been.

What seems like the future is memory spun,

For there is nothing new under the sun.

“What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again. There is nothing new under the sun.”
-Ecclesiastes 1:9, The Bible (NIV)

Beautifully written. I love the thought that all things shall pass, good and bad, but still creation endures. My favorite line "But echoes remain in the world God has made."
