Nothing and everything

A poem

I wondered the halls of a great mansion. The beams creaked, groaned, and sighed. Cobwebs trim the banisters of the grand curved stairs. Dust filled the air, dancing around me as I walked. My feet left an obvious trail behind me.

Snap, snap, snap

The rooms that used to breathe such a lively air, all but gasp for life in this decrepit place. Each chamber had a theme, windows, tables, beds, mirrors.

Snap, snap, snap

The mirrors entangled me in their grace. Sheer curtains swayed through the shadows and lights, ever so gracefully kissing the mirrors and the floors and the walls. I couldn't look away.

Snap, snap, snap

It was too captivating, isolating, suffocating, precious. I think I stayed in there for an hour. I felt so at peace just watching the curtains sway.

Snap, snap, snap
