I learned a secret

One I wish I hadnt

One I also kept a secret

To protect others hearts

You treated me the same

You never knew I knew

The burden kept getting heavier

I was lying to them

for you

and you never knew

Till one night, the last night

I was going to see you

I had told you I knew

"Your burden is not mine to carry"

"Either you tell them, or I will"

it was not my responsibility

to protect you

It was your job to

Protect me and mom

But you didnt

You broke us

by lying to mom

And letting me find your burden

Your burden was never mine to carry
