Not Mine Anymore

A Story of Lost Love

By Ali WaqarPublished 9 months ago 1 min read
Not Mine Anymore

I gave you my heart but it slipped through your hands

Fell to the ground like a house made of sand

Now I’m picking up pieces in the cold moonlight

Wondering if love was ever so right

I hear the echoes of promises made

Carved into stone but the lines start to fade

The ink on our story now runs in the rain

Love once vibrant now wrapped in this pain

Shattered pieces lying on the floor

You walked away and closed the door

Every shard a memory once so divine

Now just reflections of a love that’s not mine

I tried to fix it with threads of gold

But the cracks reveal tales untold

I reach for a past that has slipped away

While the morning breaks on another grey day

The stars above

They mock my grief

A love once whole now a stolen thief

But I’ll stand tall

Rebuild my ground

Even if your voice still lingers around

Shattered pieces lying on the floor

You walked away and closed the door

Every shard a memory once so divine

Now just reflections of a love that’s not mine

I returned to my original self, withdrew my dependence, retracted my tenderness, and let go of my possession Desire, having put away the thoughts it shouldn't have, from now on, neither sad nor happy. You can no longer influence it I'm in a good mood.
