I don't help you, I hinder you
A crutch doesn't heal a broken tender
My hand you hold limits the life you can lead.
I'm not a help but a hinder.
*
But still I piece the shards, hold you together.
I must, I tell myself, I can't watch you suffer.
but like a sand castle, every breeze makes you topple
my help, my pity has turned you into a cripple.
*
So I let go, turn a blind eye to your pain
though inside I'm crying out, screaming
This is good, there's bitterness in rain
*
You're going to be fine without me
You can do this on your own
I'm okay with you hating me
You have to build your own backbone
*
I'm not waiting for the day that you'll thank me
That's not what this is for
This is the truest, kindest help I can give
This will last forever more.

That was a strict one. I liked that strictness!
