A little something for the place I once called home.
There were good times spent in a pavilion in the park.
Drinking diet coke, eating popcorn, and summer days spent in lakes.
I jumped off that platform with the girl named after a bird a dozen times.
We smoked funny things at friend's houses and drank too much.
On our backs, staring up at trees and laughing at their leaves.
Spending time with guys who had no business hanging out with us.
We had fires in backyards, going home without cigarettes and smelling like smoke.
I dance on someone's car until he was telling me to get down.
I broke her heart and then I had mine split in two.
We grew up during summer nights and beneath skies full of stars.
Lost cake pans, broken liquor bottles, and late nights.
Midwest emo played on the radio while we grew up too fast.
This is my home in a small town in Wisconsin that no one knows.
About the Creator
Rabbit
I see the world a little differently than most. Even at a young age I was writing down what I saw but never sharing it with a soul until now. I'm choosing love over fear.
