I haven’t written in two days
Waiting on the words to come my way
Is there something that I really got to say?
No there's no need for you to stay.
Can’t force the words out of me
All that I have left is what you see

Day 4 of Quitting
If this is how sobriety feels, maybe it’s better to go through life a little buzzed… this, along with other hits like, I want to kill myself, I wish I was dead, and I’m going to throw myself off a bridge have been the only thoughts on rotation these past few days. I promise myself that if, in a month, I still feel like this (‘this’ meaning despondent, full of rage, and simultaneously numb) I can go back to smoking. Until mid-February though? Nicotine is off the table.

A familiar feeling. Sometimes simple silence can fill in the void and give new ideas. Great poem, Emily!
You wrote something similar to me. A few days ago, I had nothing to carve si I wrote a void. You can read it. It says, "A poet can be empty too"
The words will come to you eventually. You are a pro Emily. Hang in there.
Time for something else...like a trip to get ice cream or get your nails done. Listen to conversations and get inspiration out of the blue.
Been there more times than I can count. Sometimes you just have to set it aside for a little bit. Something will strike you when you’re not stressing about it. 🤗👍
