Buy Cheap, Buy Twice
People don’t look,
they rush, they grab,
they chase the bargain,
snatch the tag.
But stitching frays,
and buckles bend,
the gloss wears off
before the end.
A chair that squeaks,
a coat that tears,
the zipper sticks,
no one cares.
You’ll buy it once,
you’ll buy it again,
and count the cost,
not if, but when.
The shelves are full
of price, not worth,
all sparkle now,
no weight, no earth.
But I’ve seen hands
that built to last,
and shoes that walked
through decades past.
You pay the maker,
you pay the time,
you buy with thought,
you buy with spine.
So let them boast
their cut down price.
I’ve learnt it well,
buy cheap, buy twice.

Veery nice, Marie and very true. I have a pair of boots that I bought 20 years ago and the yare still good. Cost me a fortune at the time but well worth it.
What a good lesson to learn. Good job.
