And you’re not gonna pass”
I said, “I heard you, I ain’t dea#
I’ll study a#ter class”
She asked if I could write a poem
That promised I won’t #ail
“I promised I’ll have no more #’s
My #ocus will prevail”
I’m #inished with her pestering
#rom now on I’ll per#orm
I’m sick of parent con#erences
Demanding I con#orm
This short poem I then texted her
“Poetic though I be
My #ear is even WITH this poem
You’d mark an # #or me
Your class is dumb, I’m un#ull#illed
I never #elt you cared
It’s #unny this is how it ends
This poem o# which you dared
Ms. #ranklin quickly shot right back
By texting me, “Dear Je##
How #oolish you would live in #ear
To think I’d give a #
