No More "Again"

'No More 'Again"' is continued from 'You Again?' and is essentially the next step after walking away from or putting something down that is known by one to be hurtful/harmful to one's self. It can be a person, it may be a place or a thing. The vast majority of times it's not as simple as saying "I'll never do that again." or "Never again with him/her." Letting go is a matrix of thought, moods, decisions, and often changes that looks different for everyone.

Why am I-

Still living in the past?

Again-

Knocking on a door that closed long long ago

Uninvited-

Every other door is open

But I stand in front of what is closed

Why is this where I "want" to go?

Again-

Fatally atttacted to an empty space

Running in reverse

Chasing what used to be

What lies in my rear view will surely be the death of me

Blood stains show what damage is done

There's nothing left that can be done

All that remains are the lies that lie in my breath

"I need this..."

Lies to myself-

"I need you..."

Without one to blame but myself

What remains is not the best of me-

But what's left of me

Let me take what pieces remain of this mess for myself

And find peace in saying goodbye

This will surely be a test of me- To save the rest of me

Again, I'd love to stay, but-

I have some rebuilding to do

And, I have to say-

This scene will not be revisited again

When I walk away-

There will be not be another "again"

I can't change the weather-

But, this is for the better

So, after today

There will be no more "again"

About the Creator

Josh Morgan

Personally, writing began as a creative outlet, to be a means of processing and venting emotion, but it has become so much more. Something I want not to be just relatable, enjoyable and a good read, but to reach someone who is in need.
