No Fine Place

Here, goodbye is safer than hello.

Hello friend, I see you aren’t from here

But from light years away, that much is clear

Lend me your ear, friend, I implore

Take great caution before you explore

Here we treat half the population as less

We choose by genitalia the ones we oppress.

And we deem lesser by skin color too.

Yes, it’s absurd, but alas, it’s true.

Here we take and we take and we take –

We steal land, grab bodies, snatch all in our wake.

Our species requires clean water and food

But here power is trapped by those most shrewd

So above all we require money to live

For food, even water, money you must give

It’s unbelievable, I know, but I promise to you

My friend, I promise to you, it’s true

And more, to exist we need this same air

That we contaminate without a even care

Here, the hate, worse – apathy, I can’t stand it

Do they do such things back on your planet?

Hear me, listen well my friend,

Leave this place while you still can

Before you’re discovered, you must go now

Or we’ll steal your ship, this I vow

Even if not, we’ll follow you home

And spread our disease through which you roam.

Friend, leave, LEAVE! GO, I SAY!

This is no fine place for you to stay!

Goodbye, my friend.
