No Crying Allowed
What about the hurt we cannot hide?
No crying allowed, they say
Tears only show weakness, they claim
But what about the pain we feel inside?
The hurt that we cannot hide?
Our hearts may ache and our souls may weep
But we must stay strong, we must not be meek
For society demands that we hold it in
Our emotions, our feelings, everything within
But why should we suppress what's real?
Why should we pretend we don't feel?
We are human, after all, with hearts of flesh
And tears serve as a release, a way to refresh
So let us cry if we need to, let us be free
From the chains of societal conformity
For in our vulnerability lies our strength
And tears are a part of the human experience, at length.
