a smile as bright as sunshine
with the secrets of the moon
the beauty of the skyline
a voice warmer than an afternoon in June
singing songs straight from the heavens
like an angel, just for me
luckier than triple sevens
footloose and fancy free
no mold could ever make her
she's simply, one of a kind
the years with her, a blur
as they say, the time does fly
she's wise and bold and thoughtful
with the wisdom of a sage
unaware of just how beautiful
living her life, fully engaged
to call her a blessing, too simplistic
she is the beating of my heart
an optimistic realistic
a living, breathing, work of art

Let me introduce you to my oldest daughter, Nizhoni. Her name is Navajo, meaning very beautiful, very lovely...and she is.
She has the power to bring change and comfort to the people in her world. Strong and constant, though a bit insecure. She has the ability to see in and through many difficult situations easing the difficulties that change can bring.
She works with children and families, helping them in trying to heal and repair their pasts, with grace and compassion.
To say I am proud of the woman she is, seems insignificant. She is the epitome of the definition of her name, and so much more.
She is my heart.

Awww, this was so touching and sweet! Nizhoni is so beautiful! May I know how to pronounce her name?
I love the picture almost as much as I love this poem. I would only quarrel with one assertion you have made, that no mold could have shaped her. Initially she was shaped by you, biologically being nurtured in the waters of your womb, socially, psychologically, emotionally & spiritually in your raising her up & in your continuing relationship with her. You are not the only artisan who has worked upon her, & indeed much of the work consists of choices she has made for herself. But never doubt for a moment that the wonderful persons both she & her sister have become have been greatly influenced by the faithfulness, love & grace with which you have treated them all these years.
What a beautiful tribute to your beautiful daughter. I love her name as well.
Love the name, love what she does, and love your words, as always.
A very beautiful tribute to your daughter.
A truly beautiful testament. Great job.
beautiful!!!!
