light splits the heavens

while ebony clouds explode

After an all-night thunderstorm (which makes me sleep peacefully), we were awakened by a huge lightning strike this morning. I woke with this haiku in my head, so I decided to share it even though the challenge is closed. Probably for the best, since I've entered too many already. It's still pouring outside.

Thanks for reading!

Excellent haiku….Thunderstorms make me sleepy as well. Love how you described it here. Lol the sky-ku was very addicting to write for me too.

These is an excellent sky-ku for sure. I get a lot ideas for the challenges after they close, too.

See, that is HOW we write too many- nature moves us. Sight, sounds, smells. We have to write it down (yes, I wrote WAY too many) this is beautiful, thanks for sharing it
