In the dance of days, a concept we embrace,

New Year's arrival, a calendar's chase.

Yet in the folds of time, a question unfurls,

Why January first, as the changing world twirls?

A new dawn each day, a novel year's start,

Yet we choose a fixed date, a peculiar art.

The cycle of months, a ceaseless flow,

Yet January 1st, a tradition we know.

Time, a river, forever in motion,

Yet we halt on this day, with grand emotion.

Who chose this concept, this annual cheer?

I ponder, as the midnight hour draws near.

A rebel thought, against the norm,

A skeptic's view, a curious swarm.

Days blend like colors, in a cosmic sea,

Yet January 1st, a mark to decree.

In the tapestry of time, a human design,

To escape the mundane, to sip the divine.

An escape from normalcy, a collective cheer,

Yet, a rebel thought whispers, "Why this, my dear?"

So here's to the rebels, the pondering minds,

Who question the norms, the traditional binds.

In the realm of thoughts, let the wild ones sway,

For every day's a new year, in its own way.
