When the sky had blackened
All hope seemed to be lost
Cries of terror rang out
Death was reaping a high cost
Buildings destroyed
Smoke in the air
Bombs had gone off
People lay everywhere
No sun in the sky
Not a smile around
Homes were no more
Families not found
Weeks had gone by
The wounds feeling fresh
The once clean air still smelled
Of sad burning flesh
Ash covered ground
World black and white
We needed someone
To set things right
A little girl approached me
She opened her hand
A purple flower lay there
This is still our land
We then started to shout
We began to stand up and rise
Earth's colors came flooding back
As it heard our joyful cries
Hope is never truly lost
If we just let ourselves see
When we stand united
We stand together free
