Never tell, or we’re over
His hold on a innocent child

Never tell, or we’re over
A forty-year-old man in a quiet disguise,
Draws a simple child with sweet, tender lies.
At sixteen, she holds onto each gentle word,
Blinded by feelings that she’s never heard.
“Keep this a secret, it’s just you and me,
If anyone knows, I can’t stay, you see.
I have a wife, a family, a home,
And when the night falls, I must go back alone.”
He knows if it’s found out, a volcano will erupt,
He’s taken this young girl, made her life corrupt.
For now, the secret stays beyond her lips,
But one day it will come out, and he’ll lose his grip.
Each secret meeting, a thrill in the dark,
But behind his charm, there’s a cruel mark.
They talk of the future, but hers feels so bleak,
What does it matter? She doesn’t dare speak.
At sixteen, a child, she knows not her worth,
Lost in his lies, filled with hurt.
She wants him close, afraid of the pain,
Settling for heartache, feeling the strain.
“It’s our secret, you must never tell,
For if you do, it will make my life hell.”
In silence, she bears the weight of his call,
A child in love, and she will suffer it all.

May people like this rot and suffer in hell!
heartwrenching tragic
Oof, this one’s heavy! You captured the heartbreak and manipulation so well—it’s chilling. Hits like a gut punch, but in a way that needs to be heard.
Uh oh! This should not ever really happen. This poem is just so sad really for both of them in so many ways. Good job on showing this kind of wrong relationship if I read it right.
Sometimes people are too cruel...
Never tell, or we’re over very interesting poets
