Never Really Daddy’s Girl

Date In Paris

By Holly RaePublished 4 years ago 1 min read

We had our date in Paris

Like I always dreamed we would

We laughed, we cried, you held my hand

I just really wish you could

We talked about my little man

And how he’s just like you

I talked about what you would miss

You said “I’ll have a better view”

We had our date in Paris

Like I always dreamed we would

We talked about our past mistakes

You said “it’s all good”

You told me I looked beautiful

On my wedding day

It should have been spoken sooner

But you couldn’t find the words to say

We had our date in Paris

Like I always dreamed we would

When it was time to say goodbye

I didn’t think I could

You hugged me tight

As my tears began to flow

One last kiss on my cheek

And you said “I need to go”

I was never really Daddy’s girl

But in my heart I knew

You don’t have to be Daddy’s girl

For love to be true

Sometimes the words unspoken

Are the most important ones

You left this world so quickly

And now it can't be undone

You never said you loved me

But I knew it anyway

I never said I loved you

I hope to get the chance someday

I never said I loved you

It will be the first thing I say
