Never Forget

Never forget this day when the world stood still.

A day when survival depended on the power of will.

Never forget when that clear morning turned into tears.

We made friends from unknown peers and made it through fear.

Never forget the smoke that stood across from the sun.

A war against a new enemy had begun.

Never forget this day when we learned to be to be brave.

Many lives went to the grave, but many others were saved.

Never forget the heroes who gave it all for the victims who reached out for help with a call.

Never forget how you could no longer hate life.

The fragility of it that morning made you appreciate life.

Never forget how we were apart but came together in unity.

The living embodiment of community.

Never forget that Tuesday. The next morning was a new world and a new way.

More than just a new day.

Never forget the work of the good wasn’t done.

We found each other as strangers and stood up as one.
