Nestle Crunch, A Little Chocolate Lab, Sweeter Than The Chocolate Bar

Little wiggles and a cold wet nose,

bologna kisses on your fingers, face and toes.

Patiently waiting for us, always at the door,

a snuggle even when we didn’t know we need it most.

We named her Nestlé,

a chocolate lab, a chocolate bar.

With no idea,

she was about to steal our hearts.

But, steal she did,

a precious thief, under our noses.

Through ups and downs,

devastations and proposes.

She somehow knew,

she was the glue that fixed the problems.

A wag of tail, and a kiss,

she knew exactly how to solve them.

*

So much smarter than we were,

she never wanted to give up.

A happy smile on her face,

determined, stubborn little pup.

She helped us raise the children,

even helped us raise ourselves.

Protected from the dangers

walked with us, straight through the gates of hell.

Surrendered herself completely,

so we never felt alone.

Turned the messes we created,

into a happy, carefree home.

She would run and run and run.

we couldn't throw the ball enough.

She knew when we were down,

and loved much more, when things got tough.

She felt our pain and took it on,

as if they were her own.

The toll that trauma took on her,

was more than we ever could have known.

For nine whole years, she held on,

loving - even when we didn't deserve it.

Teaching lessons once again.

staying true to her commitment.

It's hard to imagine starting today,

without Nestle there to greet us.

But I am so grateful she was ours,

and she covered us in sweet-"Ness"

Yesterday was such a sad day, as we said goodbye to our Nesser.

I will forever miss your unconditional love, snuggles and the way you made us complete.

The love bruises you left on our legs from your happy tail of steel, and brushing our teeth together.

You changed us for the better and will always be our one and only Nay Nay
