I run to the moon, like a long, lost old friend,
as he gathers the stars for my pleasure.
We make wishes together, leaving worries behind,
after all, that’s life's finest, true treasure.
*
Letting go of my fears, all my troubles and strife,
looking forward to seeing the sun.
All the adventures of a wonderful life,
even in endings - finding hopes, just begun.

The softness of the misty haze,
gives peace and rest and calm.
From the sharp and stabbing shards of rain,
like an umbrella in the storm.

There is a comfort in the darkness, a sacredness of night,
when all is quiet, and shadows falling, become still.
Nature swiftly salvages the soul, making new the mind,
gently granting the refreshed gift, of free will.
