Letting Go Is Hard
the sweet and sour bite, of a long lost memory
holding precious moments, still frozen, in time
reminding the need to feel loved, is elementary

emotional flashbacks created in sensory
like a dream coming home, to find me at bedtime
the sweet and sour bite, of a long lost memory

carried in my heart like a priceless accessory
sweeps me away and I get lost sometimes
reminding the need to feel loved, is elementary

remembering your smile and your voice sometimes gets to me
and I long to go back, if the clock would rewind
the sweet and sour bite, of a long lost memory

but time steals a moment, as if it were a thief
"oh, the price I would pay for a do over," she whined
reminding the need to feel loved, is elementary

a sanctuary of love that was made out of grief
I'm losing new moments, holding what's been left behind
the sweet and sour bite, of a long lost memory
reminding the need to feel loved, is elementary
