Need to Know

There are a lot of things I know I need,

To hear when the time comes and my faith gets low

And if I don’t remember everything

Here are at least three things I’ll need to know

Matthew 5:16; Psalm 138:8

I am smarter and better than I think I am

I can’t let self-doubt be my possessor

I can’t let my brightness hide behind traces of fear

I’ll let the Lord be my perfector

Philippians 3:13-14

The enemy always reminds me of things not done right

By keeping crippling guilt on my mind

But I have to focus and refocus on Him that calls me

To reach for what’s in front and not what’s behind

Psalm 139:14; 1 Peter 2:9; Jeremiah 29:11

I am royalty to God, my Creator

I’m uniquely chosen, awesome, and magnificent to Him

My praises to Him should always be strong

Because His thoughts of peace for me will never dim
