She Taught Me
She Resisted Me
She Amazed Me
One day, I was sitting
Thinking, lost in thought
Reflecting on life and its enchantment of dreamers
How to reach its secret
While I am infatuated with its love, almost obsessed with living it

But
Life does not yield to me, for I do not master its dance
Instead, I always sit, contemplate
Study its conditions
Life is compelled, toiling
I strive through it
And that day, I was sitting

With a cup in my hand, quenching my thirst
And in the other, a piece of bread
Topped with fresh sesame seeds
I noticed something remarkable
A sesame seed fell and scattered
And suddenly, I saw an ant
Rushing toward it, gazing
Raising her tiny hands, thankful
Amazed

For ants, as I see, understand etiquette
I spoke to her, asking her state
As if I became a companion, resembling her
She said, "I have brothers and a family who find no food, and we always strive like this."
So, I offered her seed after seed and gifted her
And I remained there, in my place, watching her
She went and returned, with the ants
following her trail

I thought the ants had arrived to attack
To raid the place, seeking
To seize what they saw
But my assumption
Was not as I witnessed
They all stood

Their heads raised, their hands lifted in gratitude
I realized then that ants are a creation
Understanding, contemplating
And all I could do was praise in exaltation
And I cast sesame seeds from my meal
Enough for them all, and more
They thanked me for my kindness
And shared their secret with me
That life belongs to those who strive
And are early in their pursuit.
