Verdant leaves rustle in the wind,
A symphony of rustling and a song within,
Birds chirping, a harmony so sweet,
Nature sings a lullaby, tapping our feet.
Rivers flow with a gentle hum,
A melody that soothes and makes us calm,
Thunder claps like a percussion beat,
Nature's symphony, a musical treat.
Flowers dance to the rhythm of rain,
Petals swaying, a beautiful refrain,
Sunset paints the sky with a golden hue,
Nature's symphony, a masterpiece in view.
So let us listen, and bask in its delight,
Nature's symphony, a soothing sight,
For it whispers secrets and tells a tale,
Of life's beauty, beyond any scale.

Day 4 of Quitting
If this is how sobriety feels, maybe it’s better to go through life a little buzzed… this, along with other hits like, I want to kill myself, I wish I was dead, and I’m going to throw myself off a bridge have been the only thoughts on rotation these past few days. I promise myself that if, in a month, I still feel like this (‘this’ meaning despondent, full of rage, and simultaneously numb) I can go back to smoking. Until mid-February though? Nicotine is off the table.
