Nature's Shade
James & Oneg's Challenge #2 Taste the Rainbow

It is the very shade of nature ...
In great seas of ocean waters deep
On waves of forest tree tops wide
Touching skin of symbolic reptiles
Even its sound is like the feel of algae
Smells like fresh cut lawns in summer
Tastes of Matcha, but not my cup of tea
So does the apple Skittle …
🌈 Taste the Rainbow 🌈
It is even the way we express so much
The shade of one most envious
A sickly hue of one under the weather
Gardener's thumbs, good ones that is
Oh, and my favourite type of eyes, emerald
But of this shade, this oh-so common hue
The greatest and kindest among us
That wonderful amphibian, once said of it,
‘It’s not easy being … ’

I actually really struggled with this one after being given the colour I was challenged to do by the one and only Oneg! If I had chosen, it would have been pink 🩷 that's my favourite! But I wanted to rise to the challenge, and golly gosh, happy to have been given such a challenging colour to write about.
This poem is for the second challenge in James and Oneg's August Summer Writing Extrav-again-za! The time the challenge is to either choose your own, or have someone give you a colour to write a poem about. Use all your senses to describes and visualise that colour. The challenge: don’t say the colour that you were given in the poem itself. Synonyms are fine (For example: can’t say red, can say crimson)
You can find out more about the Summer Writing Challenge Extrav-again-za below:
You absolutely must check out the entry by ROCK! It's incredible and just such a wild beautifully chaotic take on the challenge that had me wrapped from word one!

I don't like matcha either. I just don't get why some people like it. Lol. Loved your poem!
Nice job!💕
Such good word choice here, Savannah! Awesome contribution!
You nailed the challenge! I love the Kermit the Frog reference especially.
I really liked your poem and its colorful array of words.
