Natural Born Killers (1994)
A 𝘽𝙖𝙙 review.

two country bumpkins
learn that senseless killin beats
milkin cows all day

A/N (extended version) Call me demented but I love this movie. Watched it at least 6 times. It also has a great soundtrack (bought it within a week of watching it). Quentin Tarantino Originally wrote the script but couldn’t get financial backing, so he sold it. It then fell in the hands of Oliver Stone who took part in reworking the story and directed it. The original script was told from the perspective of a news reporter (Robert Downey Jr.) But Oliver wanted to focus on building the characters, Mickey and Mallory (Woody Harrelson and Juliette Lewis). The result is a violent yet visceral depiction of sensationalism—how the media will exploit and inflate news stories for the sake of ratings. At times, this movie can be sensory overload, yet artful in its graphic novel, styled format. I do recommend it. If you can handle a little blood and vulgar language, I say go for it. The deeper message is so worth the absurdities... However, there were at least two celebrities who walked out on it at the theater including Oprah Winfrey and Quentin Tarantino himself. He requested a downgrade of his credit from 'Written by' to 'Story by'. That's how much he hated the changes.
Written for the Matthew Fromm, BAD movie review or bad MOVIE review. Whichever you prefer.

Congratulations on honorable mention on this week's leaderboard for Most Discussed Stories!
Another stinkin review hah! 👍 Ya know I’ve never seen this.. I know it but yeah one I missed Lamar. 🙂
Lammmmaarrr!!! Back to say congrats on honourable mention for most discussed story this week!! 🎉
great work
LOL! 🤣 I might have to check it out for the laugh factor! I can't believe I was 19-20 years old when this came out! Boy, time is flying! Awesome work Lamar!
You are really good at these review/summary poems! I'm pretty lame and haven't seen this movie. I'm going to keep checking back on your critiques for film suggestions 🤗
I think my favorite part of that film was Rodney Dangerfield's cameo. It was a small stroke of genius for Stone to take somebody who was the embodiment of funny and give him such a disturbing role. It sets the tone for the rest of the film, to me. Well-wrought!
That movie made a lasting impression on my mind. It helped me to understand that the sum of two parts can be a horrible thing when taken to extremes, to be extremely cautious when pairing your life with someone else's. Gas + alcohol=Fire. The acting was marvelous. And the graphics shocking. I'm giving Oliver Stone thumbs up.
Like of course killing is wayyyyy more fun than milking cows! Any sane person can see that! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I've not watched this movie but thanks to your Author's Notes, I've added it to my watchlist hehehehehehe
Love your haiku, Lamar!! Great job.
Never seen or heart of it but it does sound like a Tarantino!! Nicely done Lamar!!
Put that way, you have to have _some_ empathy. Stark, real and powerful review in three lines Lamar. Great job. I am not a fan of Woody, just thinking of him as the dopey Boston barman, but you really made me want to watch. Again, great job.
I hate to disagree with you on this one, Lamar, but I agree with Tarantino. I hated this movie. To date, Stone has made one movie that I really loved (Platoon). Tarantino has made several. I think he is one of the best story tellers in film.
Good job on the haiku… you’ve sent me sprinting away from this movie 😳… interesting premise, but can’t cope with the violence.😵💫
stone cold graphic violent classic satire! saw a pirate copy first when there problems with clearing it! awesome haiku!
They're probably right. 😁
I remember when this one came out!! It was crazy!! You're haiku is hilarious yet true, haha ;)
never seen it but I love your take!
