My smile is just an act

"I'm screaming"

Behind my smile.

I cry silently.

Behind my actions

There is a booming voice.

I scream for change.

Screaming for a better life.

Screaming to be treated properly.

I'm always screaming loudly.

It's shattering my heart.

This is my quiet scream.

That's been with me for years.

People closer to me have no idea.

I inform them that I am absolutely alright.

Nonetheless, I'm shouting from deep within my heart.

I have never been happy.

I've never felt okay in my life.

The smile and chuckle.

It's just an act.

To distract my adversaries.

Oh no, this sounds so sad. It is the poem of someone who is trying to pretend like it. It’s all OK but inside it’s not OK.
