Heat was always a friend of mine
It helps with my thoughts and my movements
I was fast, on my toes and a warrior in the sun
Reckless and full speed into danger
Winds cut up my feet and shoulders, and I would smile
My God, when did it rain?
I saw the cliff, I thought I could jump
I broke my shoes, my laces flew off of me
just how was I smiling through it all?
Then I hit the shore, breaking my bones, sinking into the sea.
Flowers were following me
My spirit, my heat, where did you go?
The salt oozed into my skin
My heart stopped
I didn't breathe anymore when I was in the rush
I sank under the water, entering new realms
Not by choice, I drown with the naive here
And in the depths I was with mysteries and the cruel floor
Learning to float and letting go of my legs
Acting in the moment rather than looking at the sky for plans
Paint with moon, let my blood run into this floor
Beauty, Pain, and Patience
I will be one with the sun once more
Or it will be the end of everything I once was.
