My Sister In Law

I find no peace in my broken heart,

it cracks again when nights restart

a quiet wound that doesn’t heal

a loss too deep for time to steal

I drift through days with hollow eyes

each breath a truth the silence hides

the world moves on, I stay behind

with thoughts that will not leave my mind

I speak, but no one hears me right

I dream, but only late at night

and when I wake, it falls apart

the weight returns, my broken heart

They say time heals, but they lie

the pain is constant, and I don’t ask why

it gnaws and tears with every breath

a shadow that won’t let me forget

I miss you, Brenda Hurst, my sister-in-law

I miss our chats, our laughs, our moans on the phone

our family memories won’t leave me alone.

you closed your eyes and went to sleep

Febraury 15th 2025 rest in peace. We love you ❤️
