My Reflection In The Pool

My Reflection In The Pool

I dived into the pool, breaking the water's surface.

The smooth, calm, and cool feeling of the water on my skin.

Its sound was very hollow deep in the pool.

I felt I was all alone.

Surrounded by people swimming in the pool.

The sunlight follows my reflection in the pool.

Like I was swimming as one with the sun in silence.

Children's laughter was in the distance.

My shadow was small, like a child's.

The sunlight got to the bottom of the pool before I did.

I race back to the surface of the cool water.

Water cascaded all over me as the heat of the sunlight warmed my cool

skin.

This felt wonderfully refreshing! Which is welcome because it's a hot steamy day here.
