My Radiant Beauty

Through darkness and nothing

A voice arose

cracked the black and

Color exploded.

The breath of life gave birth to all

Through this sea of dissolution

in which I crawl more than I fall.

The color the masses see

pressed on my skin

Sparks such a hate that this

world can’t seem to escape.

I stumble, I fall, but

I get up through it all

Black Lives Matter,

is the chant on their lips

Yet their whips still hit

when darkness covers their fist

Life throws punches, a new silhouette

With same abhor essence

My tone is unique even when I’m subdued

This life’s a battle, my colors array

Will it defeat me my heart aches this way

When turmoil invades me , all I feel is dismay

The hate of the world looks down on my kind but through the eyes of a child be blind.

I’m more than my color, I’m vibrant I shine,

The fear that controls me, the voices aren’t mine

will she or won’t she

the worlds betting I die..

I won’t lay down dreaming

I’ll do more than just try

accept all my flaws

I’ll fight for my right

Won’t hide the tears,

I’ll change the pain

I deserve it, I’m worth it.

For I know his name.

Alpha, omega , beginning and the end

He’s coming, he’s near

Hatred will no longer be feared.

I’m more than my race

This color attached to my bones will soon Dissipate

For The day is coming

when I won’t be looked upon is disgrace.

I’ve searched high and low

for the place I can keep my face

the only dwelling I’ve found Safe

Is in his grace.

To Seek is to find

All that is desired

Comes from he

who is of one mind

He embraces with comfort & peace

With his strength we will not retreat

The worlds hatred be expired.

I’ll raise my kids to know they’re more than their skin

to trust in the the lord for with his favor they will win.

We’re all one of the same father

Though misguided views would have you falter

They desire we all reflect the same

Not our radiant form for its not the norm

But my faith is beaming in the Lord

For he spoke in the light

he wants us all to win this fight

He created our vibrance from dust to dust

to display the true beauty

in the love he has for all of Us.
