My New Age Relationship

Brightness falls across my face

As I lay here in the dark, I can’t sleep,

so I’m jotting down the things

overflowing in my heart

*

My phones become my companion

Not the tool that it should be

It’s with me everywhere I go

Like quiet company

By Jeremy Bishop on Unsplash

I justify my new friend, boldly

Defending its importance

It only has my best at heart

and requires little maintenance

*

I come and go from screen to screen

No expectations or demands

It quickly aids my journey

with no fights or reprimands

*

Yes this small device fits gaps for me

That before would to destroy me

Now I order food with it

Sit back and binge some movies

By Valery Tenevoy on Unsplash

A small price a month to afford a friend

Who never disagrees

Let’s me believe that I’m not alone

Provides filters for my selfies

*

Don’t feel bad for me, you do it too

Its in your pocket or on the bed

These high speed 5G cell phones
