My Name Is Curious
Wonderland Poetry Prompt Challenge Day 9

I came upon a man today, fishing on the beach.
The bait he put upon the hook, a kiss he gave to each.
Curious as to why this was so, I went up and inquired,
“Excuse me, Sir, I’m curious, why kiss the bait on the hook?
He said, “so that they catch the fish,” I read it in a book.
As he spoke and cast his line, he tilted his head,
I said I’m curious, is that also something you read?
He looked at me with starry eyes, as if I were from Mars,
“I didn’t hear, can you repeat what you just said?”
Again, I said, “You cast your line as you tilt your head.”
“Oh! That is just a fishing trick, I’ve done it since I was a lad.”
“Did you not learn how to fish, not even from your Dad?”
“You ask too many questions, boy, just let me be to fish,
What’s your name anyway?”, starting to get furious.
“Me,” I said, “I’m sorry, Sir, they call me curious.”
[Author's Note: I have no idea where this came from. As soon as I read Elli's poem and the challenge prompt, it immediately came to mind.
Till next time,

Fabulous poem ✍️💙✍️
Oh I love this! This reminds me of when I am cooking in the kitchen and my children ask me what feels like a million questions as I am cooking. They could each be named curious and own the name.
That’s very curious, indeed! 👀
Great work
An amusing poem with a cute conclusion.✅
