My Mother Earth

Wandering her evergreen mist

Cradled in the

Womb of the Earth

Connected to the

Dense molten core

Through suckling roots

Nourished by the

Generous land

She gifts the world

Arboreal life

Took me in graciously

An orphan seed

Nurtured

Even cherished me

𓇣𖥧𖠰𖥧𓇣

Tree born

Emerging

I was carved

Limb and trunk

Growth continues

Down to this day

Light reaching my

Heartwood

Green and tender

Like a sapling

I am malleable

Vulnerable

In the wind

𓇣𖥧𖠰𖥧𓇣

Until one wild spark

Ignites

Flashing flames feast on

Shrubby vegetation

Ringing legs and feet

Every leaf and stem

Camouflaging the past

Instantaneously

Blasted from this plane

𓇣𖥧𖠰𖥧𓇣

While bark may harden

Foliage singed away

I will still be standing

Watching ash

Carry

Blown hither on the breeze

Beautiful work, KB; this part is my favorite!: 🥰 "She gifts the world Arboreal life Took me in graciously An orphan seed Nurtured Even cherished me"

The imagery of the tree's life cycle, from being an orphan seed to standing firm after the fire, is beautiful. It is a wonderful piece of writing. Good luck with this challenge.

Amazing as always! I'm struck by that first stanza the most though. Such rich imagery!
