My Mind Is My Prison

I am my own worst enemy

By UnusuallyDarkLushPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Have you ever been stuck inside a prison created by your own mind

Dark and heavy the weight keeps you chained to your thoughts

Day after day and month after month you count the hours until it could stop

Your sentence has no time or date for release, you count hoping for peace

Emotions stop you can't even cry

Dive deeper and deeper it gets harder to breath

The exit is nowhere in sight

Your life sits on death row as you drown from yourself

No one will understand no one will listen with intent

Alone for the rest of this sentence, how can you go on

There are no answers for the madness clouding your mind

Surviving isn't just a word it is your life

Time is falling from your hands like the sands of time

What is real, who is on your side

These questions never get answered, you're simply alone

Scream but no one will show up, just dig your own grave

Sit and wait until the last grain of sand falls, then you are finally free
