My mind is a war zone
With no winners
And many casualties.
My mind is the home
Of my deepest thoughts,
Biggest dreams,
And even bigger fears.
My mind is a place
Where safety
Is not a guarantee.
My mind is,
On many days,
My biggest enemy.

Beautiful poem and very relatable. I once tried explaining this concept to my Dad, who is also a chronic over-thinker. He said to me that once he gave himself empty space to think and feel (sitting undistracted for a period of time, regularly) he began to see his frantic mind for what it was - a gift. He told me I was like a superhero who had not yet learnt to control her powers. You are the same, JM.
