My Male Friend

Debunking The Myth That Women Can't Be Friends With Men.

He is someone to talk to when things get bad,

He pulls my spirit up when I am sad,

He gives me a shoulder to vent on,

When I am mad.

He stands by me when I am alone,

He keeps me company when life is dull,

He has his morals;

He never pushes me to cheat,

He gets on with my husband,

And I think that is neat.

This is my male friend,

The one they said could not be,

Because I'm married, you see.

But men and women were not

sworn lovers alone,

Men and women can be friends,

Just like me and my male friend,

Relationships, they come and go,

but friends will stay, in friendship and foe.

It does not matter whether you are woman or man,

Friendship works because we are human,

Loyalty and trust is what makes it work,

Saying men and women can't be friends

is just absurd.
