My Little Nook and Tablet

What I love to do at home...

By Joy MapesPublished 3 years ago 2 min read

Into the door I step, sensing the peace and hearing the gentle lull of the fan, I breathe in the cool air and relieve my mind of all the stress of the day.

There is nothing quite like entering your shelter after a long day of discussing projects and crafts with fellow humans who are planning their home and future with the ones they love.

The sanctuary of peace welcomes you with open arms and a smile that only you can see and an embrace that no one else feels.

The one spot that has been marked so much by the mold of its person receives them like a parent does a young child, embracing them, ready to hold on forever and hesitant to let go, perhaps this is why so many find if difficult to escape the grasp of love that the seemingly dormant furniture gives so easily.

When in that grasp the joys and hobbies come rolling in. Memories, adventures, moments that only the beholder remembers, and maybe invisible onlookers do as well. Yearning to record such times one picks up a notebook and a pen, or in some cases a tablet that is nearby, jotting down what comes to mind though it isn’t much it is still worth recalling.

When shadows comes there are seldom things that can pull one from the darkness as a good moment sealed in the frame and cement of a memory will do. It does so much more than take empty space where something should fill.

In the frame of mind and heart that sits the occupant in the place of their resting they doodle and draw until their being is content, their heart is at ease knowing that their needs of self insurance and relief are in route to fulfillment.

When the art is complete no matter how wondrous or simple it looks the heart is satisfied, then it turns to another outlet of relief.

The pen and paper are so much overlooked this age, but there is nothing that can ease the soul quite as easily as these.

As I seat myself in the embrace of the cushions I grab my tablet and start letting my imagination flow.

For me there is nothing better than freeing my creativity on a sheet of paper or electronic device and feeling what most don’t think of as living revel in the life of creation. The love shared between the creator and creation is one of sacred beauty, the strength that is gained from this simple act can be phenomenal and is worth participation to the creator, who will indeed obtain much relief from their release of imagination.

There are many writers in the world but not all of them bask in the creative ability to mend and bond, to break and heal, to soar and glide in the imagination bestowed in pure creation.

Indeed art comes in many forms, word art is one of the most beautiful there is and perhaps ever will be.
